Plan of Salvation
The first thing you need to do is realize that YOU ARE a sinner. We are all born with the sinful nature and that separates us from God.
Romans 3:23 states, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
But God loves us and sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. God loves you. Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". Jesus laid down his own life for you.
We do not need to change before we come to Jesus, he loves you no matter what your history is. And he will change you from the inside out.
Without Him, we are literally doomed. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ". Yes, the wages of sin is death (spiritual death), but God has given us the privilege of Eternal Life in Christ. It's a gift, you don't have to earn it or work for it, you just have to ASK for it and ACCEPT it!
So how do you get this gift of salvation?
Confess your sins... Romans 10: 9-10 says, " That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved" and Romans 10:13 "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord, will be saved."
God made us to be in fellowship with him. But he made man to have a free will to choose. Adam and Eve, the first people created, chose to disobey God. So they brought about the sinful nature we are born with. (you can find this story in Genesis)
God is pure and holy. We are sinful. So we are separated from God because of our sin. So God had a plan to bring salvation to man so that God and man could once again be in a relationship. He sent his one and only son, Jesus, as a baby conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He grew up as a human, but was fully human and fully God. He was sinless. He grew up to be a sacrifice for us. He was crucified, dead and buried, on the third day he arose from the grave, he ascended into heaven and seats at the right hand of God the Father.
He took the sins of every human being past, present, and future to the cross and made a way for us to ask forgiveness and be saved. He promised to return again, but this time as a judge and king. That is the gospel of Jesus Christ in a nutshell. He loves you and is waiting for you to come to him.
That's all you have to do! Ask Jesus to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins. Then he will make you new. Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he (she) is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! " Jesus will take you and give you a new heart and a new start.
Now you need to come to God in honesty and pray. If you believe with all your heart the gospel we have described here you can pray this prayer or one similar.
Dear Jesus, I KNOW I am a sinner. I KNOW that you were sent by God to die on the cross, to save ME from my sins. (confess them to him if you like) I ask you now to forgive me of the sins I have committed, and come into my heart and life. Thank you for dying on the cross for ME. From this day forward, I will follow your will and serve you with my life. AMEN
If you prayed to accept Jesus as your Savior, and believe, welcome to the kingdom of God!! You are now a child of the king of the universe and marked with the seal of the Holy Spirit. For Ephesians 1:13 says, " And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit."
